🌿 What Would I Want If I Wasn’t Afraid?

 There’s a question I stumbled upon recently.

It’s simple.
Soft.
But it hit me like thunder.

“What would I want if I wasn’t afraid?”

I let the question hang in the silence of my room. No one was asking me this out loud. There was no audience. No one to impress or disappoint. Just me… and the truth I had been tiptoeing around for years.

🌀 We Build Lives Around Fear Without Realizing

Fear is sneaky.
It doesn't always roar. Sometimes, it whispers:

  • “Be practical.”

  • “You’re not ready.”

  • “You can’t afford to fail.”

  • “What will people think?”

And we listen.
We tell ourselves we're being “mature,” “responsible,” “realistic.”
But slowly, unknowingly, we start designing a life based on avoidance instead of desire.

🌱 What I Found When I Asked

When I sat with that question — What would I want if I wasn’t afraid? — I began to see things clearly.

✨ I’d want to create boldly — even if no one claps.
✨ I’d want to move cities, or at least move forward.
✨ I’d want a slow, artful life where I write, sell beauty, and share peace.
✨ I’d want to build something of my own without waiting for “perfect timing.”
✨ I’d want to make money ethically and creatively — not just to survive, but to thrive.

I’d want to feel proud, not just useful.
Free, not just needed.

✨ What Would You Want?

Pause.

Ask yourself right now:
What would you want if you weren’t afraid?

Would you quit the job that drains you?
Would you launch the Etsy shop, the blog, the handmade brand?
Would you say yes to love again?
Would you travel, start over, write the book, dance again?

You don’t have to act on it all today. But you do have to let the desire live again.

💌 Let’s Make Fear Bored of Us

Here’s what I’m learning: Courage is not loud.
Sometimes, it’s a whisper too.

It says:

  • I’ll try anyway.

  • I’ll take one step even if I’m shaking.

  • I’ll honor what I want — even if it takes time.

So maybe today, instead of doing something “brave,” you can just admit what you truly want. That’s a radical act in itself.

🌻 In Case You Needed to Hear This

You’re not selfish for wanting more.
You’re not late.
You’re not foolish for dreaming while rebuilding.

And you’re definitely not alone.

If fear has been steering the wheel, maybe this week, you let your heart take the map.

Just ask:
“What would I want if I wasn’t afraid?”
Then listen.
And gently begin.
