What should you post on social media on Thursdays?
Now for the actual post ideas that you are here for. What in the world should you post on social media on Thursdays? Here are some of our favorite ideas of things to post, along with one of our favorite tools for social media content creation.
Throwback Thursday
If you’ve been on the internet at all, you’ll know what #TBT means. If you don’t, let us introduce you to the Throwback Thursday post! When Instagram was just kicking off, users would do #TBT posts on nostalgic content or memories and post them. They would be anything from an old photo of them as a kid, or an old photo of their business to show how far they have come.
Dig into your archives in your phone and do a little #TBT with a story that could resonate with your audience. Maybe it’s a personal moment in your past, a huge milestone in your business or career, or a significant event that shaped who you are as a person. Be sure to add a caption that helps shape why you’re posting the TBT and what that moment means to you.
You can even have your audience share a moment that meant something special to them to get even more engagement from the post.
Thursday Poll
Want to engage your audience the most? Poll them! Asking your audience specific questions and making them choose between answers is a great way for you to increase your engagement on social media.
Choose a topic that is related to your business, niche, or industry and take it to your Instagram Stories, or create a graphic that you can post on any social media platform, and poll your audience. And if they don’t like any of the answers from the poll? Have them discuss why and share their own thoughts in your comments or DMs! These types of posts not only spark conversations with your audience (thus building a better relationship with them) but also help you get valuable insights into your audience’s preferences and what they might want from you in the future.
A win-win.
Thursday Tutorial
Everyone loves a tutorial! If you ever go through the comment section of anyone’s TikTok or Reel, you’ll usually find someone commenting: “How’d you get your hair to do that????” and/or any variety of “Tutorial????” when people see a specific creator with great hair, makeup, fitness skills, (insert something someone can teach how to do here).
Thursdays are a great time to teach your audience how to do something! It’s right before the weekend so someone can learn a new skill right before the weekend and show off to all of their friends (or is this just me?).
Pick a topic or challenge that your audience is asking about or seems to commonly come up in your industry or niche, and give a tutorial on how to do that particular thing. You can do this in a step-by-step carousel post, in a video, infographic, or in a text-based post. It’s a great way to educate your audience and put you in a position of authority, while also getting the engagement you want.
You can even ask your audience to comment on what they would like a tutorial on next in your comments to get more content ideas for the future!
Thankful Thursday
Shout out your customers, friends, employees, collaborators, followers, or whoever deserves it in your life!
Highlight how they have helped you, contributed to your business/niche/life, supported you in life, or led to a positive experience in your life in some way. Thanking your community is a great way to build your relationships online and get people to connect with your brand more deeply online.
Thoughtful Thursday
Thoughtful Thursday offers a unique opportunity to connect with your audience on a deeper level. Instead of simply sharing a quote or reflection, consider sharing a personal story related to your brand or niche. For example, a fashion blogger could share a story about their style evolution, or a fitness influencer could talk about their journey to achieving their goals.
By sharing personal anecdotes, you humanize your brand and create a more authentic connection with your followers. Additionally, personal stories can be inspiring and relatable, encouraging your audience to share their own experiences.
Another effective strategy for Thoughtful Thursday is to ask a thought-provoking question that encourages your audience to reflect and share their own thoughts. For instance, a skincare brand could ask, “What is your biggest skin concern?” or a travel blogger could ask, “What is your dream vacation destination?” This type of open-ended question can spark meaningful conversations and generate valuable insights.
Trivia Thursday
Trivia Thursday can be a fun and engaging way to interact with your audience. Instead of traditional trivia questions, consider creating a quiz with multiple-choice or fill-in-the-blank questions. This can make the quiz more interactive and enjoyable for your followers.
To increase participation, offer a prize to the winner of the trivia contest. This could be a discount on your products or services, a freebie, or a shoutout on your social media. By offering a reward, you incentivize your audience to participate and make the quiz even more exciting.
Testimonial Thursday
Share a customer success story or a glowing review. A skincare brand could share a customer’s before-and-after photos along with their testimonial about how the product improved their skin.
Pair the testimonial with visuals like screenshots of reviews or photos of the client using the product or service. You can turn testimonials into stories by adding personal quotes, video interviews, or case studies. Tagging the customer (with their permission) can also help increase visibility and interaction.
Thrive Thursday
Thrive Thursday is an excellent opportunity to provide value to your audience and help them improve their lives. Share a productivity tip to help your audience become more efficient and get more done. For example, you could share a time management technique, a productivity app, or a motivational quote.
To further enhance the value of your Thrive Thursday posts, offer a freebie to your audience. This could be a downloadable checklist, ebook, or worksheet. By providing valuable content for free, you build trust and encourage sign-ups for your email list.
Three Things Thursday
Three Things Thursday is a versatile format that can be used to share a variety of content. Create a list of recommendations on a specific topic, such as books, movies, or restaurants. This can be a helpful resource for your audience and showcase your expertise.
Alternatively, you can share three before-and-after photos to demonstrate the effectiveness of your products or services. This visual representation can be a powerful way to convince your audience of the benefits of your offerings.
Transformation Thursday
Transformation Thursday is an opportunity to highlight the positive impact of your products or services. Feature a customer success story to showcase how your offerings have helped a customer achieve their goals. This can be a powerful testimonial that inspires others to try your products or services.
If you’ve personally experienced a significant transformation, consider sharing your own personal journey with your audience. This can be inspiring and relatable, and it can help you connect with your followers on a deeper level.
Theme Thursday
Theme Thursday is a great way to create a consistent and engaging content calendar. Create a themed series related to a specific topic, such as “Motivation Monday” or “Wellness Wednesday.” This can help you build anticipation and encourage your audience to look forward to your posts.
To make your themed posts even more engaging, involve your audience by asking for their input or sharing their own experiences. This can create a sense of community and foster stronger relationships with your followers.
Thought-Provoking Thursday
Thought-Provoking Thursday offers a unique opportunity to spark meaningful conversations and gather valuable insights from your audience. Instead of simply sharing a quote or reflection, pose open-ended questions that encourage thoughtful responses. For example, a software company might ask, “What’s the most frustrating part of managing your team’s workflow?”
By asking thought-provoking questions, you invite your audience to share their perspectives and experiences, which can help you better understand their needs and preferences. Additionally, the feedback you receive can inform future content or services, ensuring that you’re creating content that resonates with your audience.
Tech Tip Thursday
Tech Tip Thursday is a great way to position yourself as an expert in your field and provide value to your audience. Share useful tech advice that makes your audience’s life easier, whether it’s recommending a productivity tool or explaining how to use a feature on a popular app.
Even simple tips can be valuable to your audience, so don’t be afraid to share your knowledge. Additionally, asking your followers for their own tips or feedback can increase engagement and create a sense of community.
Teamwork Thursday
Teamwork Thursday offers a behind-the-scenes look at the people who make your business possible. By featuring employees, collaborators, or even customers, you humanize your brand and strengthen your connection with your audience.
Sharing personal stories about your team members can help your audience relate to your brand on a deeper level. Additionally, asking your team to share their favorite work moments or how they contribute to a specific project can make the content more personal and engaging.
