Softer Way Of Growing Business Online

Something that I have noticed in the realm of more feminine-infused business approaches, is the glorification of creating a business almost entirely through social media. This has led many women in business to believe that the key to creating a thriving business is to be constantly active and outward on social media platforms like Instagram or Tik Tok.

Yet what I have observed through the reflections of the many sensitive-hearted, feminine souls who are drawn to my work, is that being outward and consistently active on social media in order to grow a business, is not what their deeper heart craves.

When I started my business, I had the lofty dream that I could do things naturally, gently and without needing to get caught up in the hectic world of social media. I wanted to create longer form, hearty writings. I wanted to create a beautiful online home away from the noise of social media. I wanted people to reach out to me naturally. I wanted to trust that the right people would find me. I wanted to be phone-free and in nature as much as possible, while my business unfolded gently and my audience grew organically. I wanted to share and create in a way that felt naturally paced and true.

Scrolling, 24/7 screen time and feeling tethered to likes, engagement, consistency and algorithms were not part of this dream. Yet for the first part of my business, I believed that my gentler way of doing things was not possible. That I needed to be on social media if I was to create the type of business that I envisioned. I thought that my resistance to social media meant that perhaps I just wasn’t willing enough to show up. That I had a fear around being seen. That I should push and force myself to be more ‘outwards.’ That I should override my instincts and just use social media for the sake of my business.

It was only when I allowed myself to be okay with going against the plethora of business advice telling me that social media was the only way I could run a feminine business, that I felt free to deepen back into my own instincts and focus on showing up online in a way that felt right for me.

Instead of trying to force myself to be on social media, I focused on a different, softer way of growing my business online. A way that allowed me to be found by people who truly value and deeply connect with my work. A way that enabled me to attract (without hustle, force or oversharing my personal life) a consistent stream of clients and customers to my business. A way that felt (and continues to feel) natural, gentle and true to who I am.

And this is exactly what I share with you in this course. A softer path to grow your business online- without needing to rely on social media.

In the online business space, there is almost a distrust with doing things softly.

As though we are only allowed to be successful if we push and force ourselves to constantly show up online. There is a ‘do more quicker’ approach that interrupts the natural cycles of growth, and the feminine template of business that many of the women I work with are longing to soften into.

There are many layers to this, but something very powerful that has allowed me to come back to this softened way of business, is through redefining the idea of being visible online.

Through Growing a Business Without Social Media, I teach a different type of visibility called ‘passive visibility,’ or ‘natural discoverability.’ This is where instead of you needing to be active and outward on social media, people find you consistently and organically through search engines. Not only does this have a completely different feel to ‘showing up’ on social media, but it actually attracts a different, more connected type of person to your work- people who are actively seeking out what you offer, rather than those who are passively scrolling and unconsciously looped into inorganic desire patterns.

When I learnt how to create this visibility, it became easy for the right people to organically find me online. They would naturally sign up for my email list, enquire about my services and purchase offerings from me- all without me needing to be outward and active online. This continued to grow and grow. Content that I posted weeks and months ago, was constantly being found by new people- which meant I felt no pressure to be online.

What I have found through the success of this softer approach, is that you do not need to be on social media if this is something that does not feel right for you and your business.

You do not need to be online constantly sharing yourself and your business in a very outward way if this is not what works for you. You do not need to be creating endless micro-content at a pace that feels unnatural and forced. You do not need to find new customers and clients through pushing yourself to be visible on platforms that do not feel good to you.

Whether you are just starting out in business and would like a softer way to start building your audience, or you are a more established business seeking out a more sustainable way to attract new clients and customers online, the one that give you the confidence, insights and practical tools to help you grow your business online- softly, naturally and without needing to rely on social media.
