Though I'm not too much animal lover not even think of having carier the field of animal research but still i cant keep myself away from knowing knew and interesting facts about animal.
And yesterday while it was last working day of week and I had less mood of working on something . I switch on tv , to just get some diversion in my mind of whole weekly busy and stressed schedule.
I started scrolling channels . First to the hungama tv for schinchan cartoon, then sab tv expecting some laughter and last to the music channel but nothing worked and while this scrolling activity I came across some channels like BBC earth, history , national geographic .
I don’t remember about exact channel name but I remember about serial name, that is “ Americas super snake “. I was too about to scroll that channel , but I find it somewhere interesting . Because of animal interesting fact. The interesting part is about snake tail , which have some kind of music or toy instrument, which create sound. And im from those person who have watch too many snakes in their life because i belong from village area , but I never notice that part.
For that part , I asked my mom, and she replied, “ our first preference always to safe ourselves and family from snake, we never got that much time, to pay attention on beautiful part of snake.” Its completely true man, once when I was alone and saw a snake , at that time , I couldn't even shout . LOL.
So the main point is serial was too interesting as its focused on a female snake. I decided to watch it properly with every details specially in Hindi. As Hindi is my mother-tong so to know everything in details I change the language to Hindi mode. A female person is giving each and every details for that Ratel Snake. Whole hour series is dedicated to ratel snakes and specific to one female snake whose name was , “ SUNURA”.
Rattlesnake tail
Rattlesnakes receive their name from the rattle located at the end of their tails, which makes a loud rattling noise when vibrated that deters predators or serves as a warning to passers-by. However, rattlesnakes fall prey to hawks, weasels, king snakes, and a variety of other species.
I just started it in somewhere mid, so she was saying , Sunura, is in search of some safe place, as that time was of some festival , in which number of people gather too attend a festival which is specific for killing and collecting ratel snake species. And just to skip from this evacuation process sunura is moving from one land places to hilly area, where there is less chances of got killed by this cruel hunters.
Rattlesnake festival
“Rattlesnake roundups” are contests calling for hunters to bring in as many snakes as they can catch in a year, at which point the snakes are slaughtered and sold for skin and meat. ... To catch snakes for the event, hunters spray gasoline into tortoise burrows, destroying the burrows and often killing the animals inside.
She mentioned that festival was started for just to safe humans from poisonus animal, but later on it set as trend, and now people kill them just for fun or for there luxury accessories of apparel. Its too shameful that just to have fun they kill innocent animal.
But not only from this human enemies, but sunura or all snakes have fear of others animal too who can kill them for their day to day food routine. In low area they can be safe by bushes and grass but in hilly area they have to find safe place as soon as possible, either they wont be able to protect themselves from eye of road runner, big enemy of rattlesnake.
While sunura In process of finding safe place in this time of summer , she is even looking for perfect partner too . She is leaving a fragrance behind so that male snakes can find her. Snake have specific fragrance too, only female snake. So as she moving , she is leaving behind a smell , which intimate other male snakes, that she is ready for mating.
The two male snake have noticed that fragrance and with the help of their tongue , tracing to sunura. But they are so eager to meet partner , that they have not noticed humans presence , the snake catcher. So both are caught by humans.
But sunura is very active and moving slowly on the path that she evacuated easily from that horrifying place . and finally reached to hills. Hilly area which have no grass and can easily caught by their first enemy which have reign over this hills is none other than road runner.
My whole childhood spent with ,” The road runner show”, a speedy bird , and I find him so cute always . But as it was cartoon show , so I never ever imaging that a cute cartoon bird can eat snakes. Oh No.
Road runner generally kill their food with high speed , so those animal never get any chance to skip from their death. This sunura who is moving slowly is in eye of road runner , if soon she is not able to find a safe place she might be killed by this no so cute bird.
But sunura have very good fortune, so before she could be caught by," not so cute" road sunner bird. she is able to move in , a small hole space of rocks. Which can be home for her, a safe shelter to be protected by all enemies .
So even I sigh in relax that she is safe now.
But mine relax mode could not stay for even one moment , then female instructor voice echoed that , sunura is not all alone in this hole. And im shocked , now what. I she finally would be killed by someone? Is her destiny is not that good?
But wait, she said a male rattle snake is also there.
The male snake will not kill her but want sunura as his partner. And I was with thought that, sunura just traveled so far , by escaping all her enemy and at least need some time to settle.
But no , within some moment the male snake start impressing sunura by moving all over. Specially by his tongue , by movement of tong.
I was like , I know sunura, she is very tough personality , she wont easily allow that male snake. but what I see and im shocked what is this? Is that convincing a female snake is that easy. And within a second they start their process. Process of mating.
And the very first time i see in my life intimating snakes, and some purple part of male comes out and that female person spoke about some details. That male snake have two part and they have capacity to make female snake productive in one time.
And I was totally clueless. And in that moment my mom arrived from other room and in hurry I have to change the channel. I was like that these animal channels too put A plus certificate , so i get idea that im not allowed to watch this kind shows.
